This was purchased in Mexico, it's made of pieces that look like shells but I'm pretty sure they are a hard plastic or acrylic. I think it would be too flimsy if they were actual shells.

~There are spaces between each shell piece. The clasp can be put in any of these. This adjusts from 28" to about 32"
